Massachusetts YouthBuild programs benefit from a wonderful partnership with the Commonwealth through funding authorized by the Legislature, signed by the Governor, and administered by the Department of Education. This funding is the backbone of a diverse funding strategy that allows programs to deliver services essential to young people.
FY 2009 Request
FY ’09 State Budget Request is $3.5m for YouthBuild Line Item, 7061-9626
The MA YouthBuild Coalition requests that the FY’09 state budget include $3.5m in the YouthBuild line item, 7061-9626. This would be another step in providing critical funding to these programs. The need is even more crucial for FY’09 than this current year given the high drop out rates in MA and increasing number of young people applying for these services.

- For grants and contracts with youthbuild programs for the purposes of providing comprehensive youthbuild services…………..$3,500,000
The FY’09 request will allow more young people to participate in YouthBuild programs across the state. 2,200 young people knocked on the YouthBuild door this year and only 385 can be served.
